Regardless of age, I believe it is of utmost importance to treat all patients holistically and examine all levels of their functioning.  Incorporating evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), I tailor an individualized treatment plan that meets your specific wants and needs instead of applying a “one size fits all” therapeutic technique used by many in the mental health industry.  Additionally, I have extensive knowledge in the arenas of Mindfulness-Based Treatment, Transcendental Meditation, and various Existential/Integrative Therapies that incorporate long-standing and time tested healing techniques from all over the globe.

I have direct experience working in a variety of extremely challenging clinical settings, from inpatient psychiatric hospitals and residential substance abuse rehabilitation centers (for both teenagers and adults), to state prisons, where I helped develop and implement a chronic pain management treatment manual that was adopted by the entire prison system of the state of California.  Because I cut my teeth clinically in a host of high-intensity and difficult environments, I have the ability to “go with the flow” and remain emotionally grounded when helping patients work through incredibly challenging circumstances and emotional states.

I received my Bachelors (BA) in Psychology from Kenyon College and earned a Master’s (MA) and Doctoral (PsyD) degree in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP).
